Improve access to the courts for self-represented litigants and provide legal information to all.

ABOUT THE ACCESS TO JUSTICE CENTER

The Access to Justice Center is a free service designed for self-represented litigants who need information about specific, legal issues or court procedures.  Services are provided at no charge, but participants are responsible for all court filing fees.

The Access to Justice Center is staffed by an attorney who is skilled and trained to analyze the issues from the facts presented and explain the applicable law and available legal and procedural alternatives, options and remedies.  The Self Help Center attorney will NOT recommend a legal alternative or option for you to take.  It is your responsibility to consider the various alternatives or options available and for you to make all decisions in regard to your case.  You should consult an attorney, if you need assistance in selecting an option, alternative, or in making a legal decision.

The Center does NOT provide legal representation or give legal advice about cases.  The Family Law Facilitator is NOT  your attorney.   He will not represent you in a court action.  The information you provide to the Family Law Facilitator and staff will not be kept secret, private or confidential.  Everyone has equal access to the services of the Access to Justice Center/Family Law Facilitator.

Legal resources include reference books, videos, legal forms, and information packets on various areas of law.  Computers with legal software and access to legal internet sites are also available.

Supervised child care facilities are not available at the Access to Justice Center.   Please arrange for your children to stay with a family member, friend or babysitter.
